I never thought i would start reading this, i always stumbled upon it but never tried it because i thought it would be another one of those one dimensional mc, but the story is so good ?? everything is top notch. Everything has meaning, nothing is thrown at the characters for the sake of making them suffer or drawing pity from the reader. That’s just how the story is, it’s dark, it’s erotic and it makes you wanting more. The mc is so charismatic and the characters feels so human, the story in itself is really really sad but it honestly feels like i’m watching a movie or a drama from how good the story is written and how good the characters are, and how human they feel. Whatever people have to say about this being too much, or worse than pearl boy or any other “hard” bl for that matter, i’ll tell you one thing :
This story was clear from the very beginning, it tackles difficult subjects but it does it extraordinary well, so much so that it feels real. This story is a well orchestrated and well written piece of work, the characters aren’t thrown into desperate and grotesque situations just for the sake of trauma dumping or to draw the readers empathy. No, it’s all a part of the story, and it’s painful to read, but you understand that it cannot be taken out of the story because these horrendous things are part of our characters.
I hope i made sense because english isn’t my first language lol, but either way, this is truly a heart wrenching story, feels like watching an actual drama.
I always had a hard time with bottoms in BLs, i was never into “feminine” bottoms, though i’ve learned to love a few stories with such bottoms such as painter of the night. Lee Geom is an amazingly charismatic character, he’s ruthless, courageous and so painfully beautiful… He’s brought down every time but always get back up. I would be lying if i said i didn’t fall in love with this character myself. I really loved this last panel from chapter 54 when that black haired dude kissed his leg, this represent Lee Geom’s role in this story perfectly, Geom’s like religion to them, and rightfully so. He’s truly out of this world.
