I'm not big on the "childhood friends who both like each other but neither one is direct with their feelings and end up hurting each other" cliché, but I didn't get that vibe reading this and it's really what made me continue reading. Fuyuki is in love with Eri but holds her feelings in because of a promise they made when they were kids to be friends forever. I think that concept is a little silly, but I can see why Fuyuki would want to keep her feelings to herself. Eri has lost so many friends in life, and her first real friend outside of Fuyuki ended up confessing to her and when Eri rejected her, she basically acted like Eri never existed. I'm sure Fuyuki thinks if she told Eri her true feelings, it would cause a rift in their friendship if Eri didn't feel the same way, so in order to keep that promise of always being by Eris side, she has to hide her feelings but this hurts her in the long run. Eri doesn't realize yet what her emotions mean when she hears about Fuyukis new girlfriend, and as frustrating as it is, I also know Eri doesn't understand her own feelings for Fuyuki just yet. I can feel tension happening already because Fuyuki won't be honest, and Eri is just going to be confused but I'm super excited to see this get updated. Through lots of hardships and crying first, obviously, I can already tell this is going to be a beautiful story.
