Contrary to most of the comments, I don't think it's a stupid or senseless idea, it gives us two directions which in their own way are two classic clichés, "we met when we were children" and "I loved you in a past life" It seems fun to have to choose which cliché ending we prefer to cheer for (and forgive, because Jawhi was a horrible person)
