I'm getting that feeling too! I really hope they don't go that way (like the damsel in distress or country bumpkin route). I was hoping for a strong power couple.
Also, I'm also confused about the attitudes the prince and his aides/allies are giving her? They keep acting as if she chose to be with the prince for love when anyone can see she only did it for the alimony and he dragged her into his plans. (Also how long are they going to continue to be shocked that 1-Pervaz is poor and starving- hence why she's so fixated on money and resources 2-she actually cares for her people, hence the marriage in the 1st place ) I don't understand why they keep being shocked that she's excited over supplies when the prince made fun of his dad and brother for not understanding how much war effects a region.
See it's not really the blushing that bothered me, because heck she could just be like damn he's hot (marriage and sword does a great job at depicting this). But it's all the little things it's paired with. What I'm nervous about is them taking a complex character with a lot of potential and making her an accessory to the ML. So far all the times she has interacted with the ML she comes off as naive and incompetent, with him only talking down to her. Also, it makes me anxious that she's going to fall for him 1st even when the ML has only been disrespectful to her and her people.
I love the mc but she feels kind of naive? I feel after having spent years in war you would be more mentally strong/mature (I feel like they are kind of making her seem incompetent too but idk it's too early to tell). She's also hyper-aware of the ML which feels weird to me because she literally shared a room with her comrades before and probably has seen men's naked bodies while at war, so why is she blushing so much and shy? (I feel like she should be unphased or at least less affected by it).
Also kind of hoping her people (people of Pervaz) roast/humble the Prince because his attitude is getting on my nerves.
