The entire purpose was to actual follow a religious basis. Forgiveness. Seek it and that man literally gave up his life so that the priest wouldn’t rape or kill people anhmore which honestly is insane but let’s be honest it’s been 15 years. He wasn’t gonna get a good life anyways because there is zero proof and he already lived his sentence so the only thing to do it stop the primary subject from doing it ever again
