Jaekyung is not always harsh towards Dan, he is paying Dan like how employers do to their staff, plus he saved him from getting raped by those debt collectors, he paid off his debt, paid his grandmother's hospital bill, and letting him stay in his house, of course not free but having sx with him for his jinx, without Jaekyung, Dan would not be survived, he would die on the street!
