I can agree here but they're both assholes, youre right about Heesung 100% however lets be clear here, there are kind things Jaekyung has done but the way he treats people is pretty terrible. Hes clearly suffering severely from the sin of pride. Jaekyung probably is a sweet guy underneath all the layers, the issue here is that those layers are sexually abusive, violent and aggressive. Its all fiction but if we're being serious here Heesung and Jaekyung are polar opposites but equally pieces of shit. Theyre just on opposite sides of the spectrum. Heesung is shallow and manipulative and then Jaekyung is abusive and aggressive. Theyre both exploitative though, Heesung sucks the life out of people hes interested in and then leaves them high and dry and Jaekyung takes advantage the favours hes given Dan and uses it against him whenever he feels shitty. Giving him a ride to Heesungs house? Takes advantage of the situation and makes Dan use a sex toy in his hissy fit of jealousy. That sex contract he gave Dan? Inherently sexually exploitative. I dont this outright abusive behaviour is any better than someone who is secretly the devil. Maybe its easier to identify but that pretty much it.

Okay when I was in college. They had an experiment. They made a website saying how H2O is bad for you. The 2 is small. They explained how H20 would destroy things and so on. It was outlandish. I know people believed it. People wanted to get rid of it. But how do you get rid of something you need? How do you get rid of water? You need water. Yes too much water will harm/kill you. I couldn’t find a source.

I think Heesung and Jaekyung are equally shitty people, i was nitpicking at Jaekyung here because the OP already made a point about Heesung that was valid. Believe it or not my dislike for Jaekyung has lessened and is more an equal balance between him and Heesung. My point was to say that just because Jaekyung is a different type of abuser doesnt mean hes any better. If the way ive been describing Jaekyung makes you think im exaggerating but the way i describe heesung (since you havent mentioned it) doesn't. You might just be biased, i mean i think the point i made was pretty neutral. Im not favouring either of them (not that you said that). Though, there isnt too much to say about heesung i mean hes been here for less than 10 chaps. I'll flame him once he does more things.
The OP only pointed out Jaekyungs good traits (mentioned his bad traits but didnt go into it) so i just wanted to set the record straight and say that just because hes done good things doesnt make him a better person. I mean if someone made the arguement that Heesung was better than Jaekyung because he treated Dan better after reading this chapter it would be pretty stupid.
No. I am not biased. I don’t have your view on either one. I like to see what Heesung does in the next chapter because I judge him that harshly. I leave room. I am open minded. Would you can the over dramatization of trying to make it look like I am being biased. Why do you bring in irrelevant information… I make a comment and did not explicitly mention JK actions because they should be known and I explained Heesung’s actions but I was biased. It is irrelevant to mention an already established character actions. This time I didn’t talk about Heesung and I am still biased. I explained then I am only sticking to the story. I am not biased. You are making points like I should had said something about it but it was irrelevant. They are not polar opposites. You would come up shorthand on the amount he has been violent and aggressive. He is mostly silent. The car ride are you sure you have an accurate pov? The sex contact are you sure? He is abusive. He could be worse. You act like he has murdered Dan’s family and have Dan confided or something.
I dont agree that im exaggerating about Jaekyung but i guess i can see where youre coming from, to be clear i was calling Heesung the devil in my original comment (a purposeful exaggeration). Im sure on my stance but its interesting to hear your opinion.
Heesung was introduced to be a foil to Jaekyung. They are exact opposites.
Heesung seems like perfect boyfriend material – says the right things, buys the right gifts, showers Dan with sweet attention, but he's fickle, superficial, exploitative. If he won Dan over, he would happily ditch him with the next breath without another thought. His "love" seems unconditional (on the surface) but it's completely self-serving.
Jaekyung seems like a total asshole and seems to say and do all the wrong things – but he's the asshole who rescued Dan from loan sharks, paid his debt, gave him a place to live with no end date, visited his grandmother, paid her medical bills, doesn't seem like he'd ever turn Dan out onto the streets or ditch him any time soon, even if his jinx was resolved. Maybe their arrangement is exploitative and Jaekyung is forceful. But every time Dan expresses gratitude, Jaekyung pretends his kindness is 100% self-serving and I don't think that's totally the case. I think Jaekyung is now protective of Dan in his own way.
