Haven’t really read it, but from all I’ve read about it I got the feel for it and my theory for most stories like this that get super popular over better plotted ones come down to simplicity I think. These stories aren’t deep. They’re just eye candy so it’s easy for people to jump into them. Another thing being that it’s a fantasy and a lot of people fantasize about things like that happening to them even if in real life they know it’s not right. It’s simply a fantasy and they can live it out through their reading.
That’s my 2 cents not only about this story, but others similar in toxicity and popularity.

Ahh i love fluff, i alsl read alot Father daughter, isekai and player stuff. I believe my taste is quite balanced. I have this thing where people reccomend me the worst stories they've ever come across and i read it and rate it. I'm quite commited to the toxic/psychological/dark themes just bc i enjoy seeing how much it takes to make me uncomfy... And it's like u said, when we started out toxic bls were all the rage then so alot of people start with them. Honestly if I had to give a recc to someone new it would be Salad days Instead of something like bj Alex just bc its so perfect

Honestly it's the art. The way the artist creates the images is chef's kiss The colours, the proportions and literally everything is absolutely beautiful. They're basically art for me I've never invest myself in the plot because the plot is st*pid but yes you get it

I totally get that. Im always afraid to start something and not like it and then feel like I wasted my time. But I like to think about it in a way tha makes it easier to handle " if you dont know what you don't like, how will you be able to choose what you do like?" helps a ton with starting with things I don't normally would reach for
