I was loving it until i didnt... the author just had to do that.

1. It was doing well with how she has a clear sight of things even if we get distracted here and there
2. The mystery of his illness got wrapped up so quick in an anti climactic way
3. Surprise, she only gets to learn about her body after theyre gone and with her vulnerable mental state and mistrust (coz heck, she was ready to leave regardless of how "theyre changing" and she leaves with the money ~ wow.)
4. The duke, the sorrowful lad he is, is unaware of what just happened and the veronica arrives. And of course, another heartburn of jealousy and shit will happen in the future.

This is why even if it's at 72, i dont want the next chapters because all that character development got drained by Camilla's pathetic power over Selena. Like, Selena... this girl. She's got monologues and shit but when it matters, she already had the thought of leaving and this is why it's sooooo disappointing that this just fell to that frustrating trope. It THREW AWAY ALL THAT DEVELOPMENT for WHATTT it doesnt fucking make sense that the girl who was looking for loopholes to savw her neck, isnt looking for loopholes to save her marriage. It's like she's written off as a coldhearted bitch who played around with Armand's feelings. Dont go for that alimony coz this wouldnt have happened if she was honest with him, she doesnt have my pity coz the author disregarded her writing in the first place! She gave up on them! HE MADE YOU HIS DUCHESS! BUT WHAT THE FUCK?!
