basically when she li was bullying mo he (she li) pierced mo’s ear by force as a sign of property right : only shi li could control Mo

so to counter this troubling moment, mo wants he tian to pierce his ear to move on and to also prove his love and importance to him by the act of letting him (he tian) pierce his ear which is kind of a trauma to Mo
