Nah, the author is lazy. To write a good redemption arc you need to actually work, but why work when you can just write this shit? Am I right? Who needs good character development when you can put them through trauma

OMG YES. Like it's kinda contradictory. Wouldn't trauma make you less likely to be comfortable doing that stuff, instead of making you to want it more (or to even find it plesurable).
I know this entire side story is the author trying to make Dohyeok serve some weird penance through sex and being the bottom or whatever and clearly they could see it wasn’t working out with his character so they had to whip up the sexual assault and sexual trauma and like. No. No one deserves this shit and just because he was awful the author is trying to use that to justify this needless rape…
