Yup it sure is different. I personally prefer this. They trimmed a lot of repetitive scenes, brought the plot forward, and added stuff to make the story make sense, or at least make more sense than in the novel.

I read some parts of the novel and the story kinda changed. In the novel, there's no Cloa during the arc with that evil family.
