Nah I think he prob just actually ended up falling for the uke once they were in the relationship
It could be because I think I remember him saying at one point "I was going to anyways", I also think he's putting on a facade for his friends just to look cool but does actually have feelings for Jitae. Still though he needed to drop the whole game thing even with his friends yesterday, gone up to them and be like "okay guys this isn't a game anymore, we're in a relationship", but maybe his friends are the real assholes who wouldn't let him be happy or something.

I think he had plans to date him before that, overheard ppl saying they’d try take him home, and then went “Welp I was going to anyway, I’ll do this and be real thorough with it so they don’t even attempt to bother Jitae”
