It's actually more uncomfortable if the uke is a doormat due to the power imbalance. Usually uke would be the smaller physically weaker partner. If he's to be the weak doormat too, then seem would hold all the power and uke is hopeless and at seme's mercy. In this dynamic, where seem is the doormat, the power is better balanced. The seme can't be completely hopeless, cos he can physically overpower the uke if violent situations arise.

I did say USUALLY. We're talking about Yaoi right? Just look at the covers of the top Yaoi series on this site. What do they have in common? Physically smaller uke. USUALLY smaller ppl are physically weaker right? So I'm saying, in this Yaoi uke is smaller and physically weaker, but he's not weak, he's not a doormat. Uke holds the power in this relationship and I prefer that. That's all. I'm not stereotyping or discriminating in general. I'm making an observation in the context of Yaoi. Believe me I'd love to read a more equal dynamic, switch couples even, regardless of physical sizes. Something like Haru wo Daite Ita and Thirst, is what I enjoy most. But sadly I don't see a lot of them here. There are just a lot of the stereotypical big seme x small uke in yaoi and a lot of them have the seme holding the power in the relationship
I actually quite like this refreshing take on the tsundere/doormat trope where, the uke is the tsundere. Very unique.
While I pray each episode for the strength to endure Heesuh's abuse, I have learnt to remind myself that were this a typical tsundere seme plot, I'd be lapping it all up without batting an eyelid.
So, yeah, the role reveral does make one uncomfortable, but it's actually not bad to see the seme as the doormat on the receiving end of a bad-tempered uke.
