So, at the beginning I thought we were not going to be shown the face because it was sort of like a y/n situation that happens in eromanga. But no, it was a selfinsert(? Of the author whom I really REALLY hope has a healthier relationship than what this mess was. I think pretty much everyone stablished Kamiyou to be an arsehope of the highest degree. I would like to give it another angle I haven't seen mentioned so you can hate him more. Ren was a baby gay. He had absolutely no experience in the scene but he wanted to belong. Sadly Kamiyou made him feel adequate, but never reassured him that being gay was not "disgusting", that he wasn't "disgusting". Thus creating a dependency. When Ren gets to open his wings and meet new people that were by no means any threat to Kamiyou, he still felt the need to yank his chain and, well, do what he did. Later on, when he doesn't want to share, he brings up the mask Ren used, with a total valid reason that Kamiyou knows and even "forgave". He dangles it like a threat. Ren is, in the end, somewhat isolated and dependent of Kamiyou by his design. I remember I read once, how important is to share LGBTQ love stories and experiences and how important it is for those to have mainstream media representation because when you hide a demographic, there is more chance for abuse to go unnoticed, unreported and even unknown for the victim. I can see that here. The lack of healthy role models and experience for Ren left him open for people like Kamiyou. The only good thing I can say about this manga was that the confusing translation made it easier for me to just skim through it.
