Coming from a reader who completed the novel, this is better than BL, Yoo Jonghyuk and Kim Dokja's connection to each other goes deeper than that. I don't see it as something to fetishized about, rather they are soulmates hence life and death companions

ah no i completely get your point, like, just the dynamic of “a reader and their character” is something that’s so special to see… frankly i do love a good bl but i also do prefer the friendship they have much more. and as a reader i completely understand the protective sort of love kim dojka must feel for yoo jonghyuk. i think, had it been a bl, it would’ve diminished that feeling.

Honestly, I don't think they are merely friends. They are more like family way? I dunno. It's open ended so everyone is free to interpret in their way. I just don't like seeing some readers saying that it is disappointing because it is not BL. I shipped them too but I appreciate their relationship and sees it as pure.
