No i don't think so since he is a bird he probably just wanted a child and be it's mother or someone he can play with since he can turn himself as a kid and the whole trope of raising someone that later falls with their caretaker always happens
I don't think he was into a child, although the person is their type, their time of death is a different story. Wu's(The tiger) chosen one died around their late 20- early 30s(not sure) and The Black Dragon's chosen one died in their pre-teen-teen years. It's just unfortunate that the chosen one died so young, but they become a beasts chosen one once they died, in any point of their lifetime, including childhood.
