You know what... I just discuss this with my friend, my friend has autistic sibling and i also has autistic relatives who are pretty close to me and when we see dojae (even before we read about the chapter when his mom said dojae a bit "special" and before the author said anything about the character profile) we were like, "this kind of 'attitude' is kinda familiar don't u think?"
And my friend was like, "yeah... He has autistic for sure"
I feel like he has really mild version of autism but it's mostly just alexithymia. Cuz he doesn't have most of the traits, like eye contact, (dude legit glares at other people all the time), change in routine, unless it involves uke the seme doesn't really care about social situations, again unless it doesn't involve uke he doesn't really get anxious.
Not understanding how to act in a socially acceptable way (in the example you mentioned, eye contact) can manifest in many different ways. This can be avoiding eye contact, or the opposite: Not knowing when eye contact is 'too much'. Not everyone's autism is the same.
We also don't really know how he acts in his day-to-day, so there's really no knowing what symptoms he does or doesn't have.
Am I wrong for feeling like Dojae is autistic af? The creator noted that they wanted to show “diverse” personalities but it really does feel like they’re trying super hard to make his neurodivergency obvious and use all these overt hints and beat-around-the-bush descriptors without having to explicitly say it, and it’s a wee bit frustrating. Still like this comic, tho
