To add, why did the current King not kill the ML and instead kidnap and torture him?? He wanted the throne, but chose to keep an obstacle in the way?? Not only that, but he marries a useful subject to the ML, giving the ML the power of the strongest Knights (if FL wasn't so dumb) and even granted him the status as an archduke. He could have married the FL to someone he knows is 100% on his side instead. And as far as I know, there have been no assassination attempts made by the King towards the ML. At this point, is the king even the villain?
I feel like the real culprit for killing the previous king and queen and the FL parents is the priest, and she throws it on the current king just for ML to take action, that's the only explanation why he isn't killing the ML, especially that he was taking care of him since a baby, and when the current king was so mad about the ML rude behaviour in the party his wife the current queen stopped him and looked sad towards the ML. The priest sounds so manipulative and doesn't care of the FL or ML downfalls.
None of this makes sense to me. Why can't the FL choose the ML's side? He has status, a right to the throne and people on his side (at least for now). Whether or not she is bound by a contact, its over if the current king is killed. She wants her Knights to be free and taking lots of burdens, but instead chooses to remain chained to the king??? Plus she's now found new information that the King may have killed the previous King and may have killed her father too, so why is she stuck???
The ML is also annoying me. He wants the FL to have her own freedom, promising to do what he can to provide for her, yet does Jack shit. He randomly trusts that priest (or something) when they had only met once and only knowing that she's against royalty. Like who's to say she's not against him?? Everything he's decided to do, has meant the FL was given more work, giving her more burdens.
And why does the ML have absolutely no plan to getting the throne? He found out from a young age that his uncle killed his father and so he vowed to get back what's his and provide FL with comfortable life. However, he's only shown to be an annoying clingy dog. He is hardly involved with any of the plans, he hasn't found any allies himself (they instead came to him and aren't trustworthy) and he didn't even know who they were planning to place on the thrown. He didn't dive deeper for more information from the priest lady, and just followed along. Why does he have to be sick every chapter as well?
I've also just realised that some characters have just been disappearing. They may appear again later on, but what happened to that female Knight/Baron and her son?? They introduced that the son had some inferiorty complex towards his mother, since he had no talent, but there was no resolution and it wasn't brought up again.
That other knight that betrayed the FL in the beginning as well, why is he still here? He should've been fired and sent back home or something. I understand the Knights have freedom, but since they value trust so much, he shouldn't be allowed to stay. He can remain friends with FL and the other Knights, but he's clearly more loyal to his family than the family he should be serving.
