The Emperor is shitty too but the Empress is straight up foul, she forced the marriage on him by using the Emperor at the time even when he said no and that he already had a lover, so obviously he would ignore her. Then she drugged, raped and bore his child by raping him. Imagine how traumatized he'd be. I hate him but I can't help but feel bad for him. He wouldn't be as shitty as he is now if it weren't for the Empress either. I can't see him genuinely caring for mc, at least for now. But I do hope we can see him feel remorseful or regret, and pay for the way he treated mc and neglected him.

Though his son definitely did not deserve the treatment, as he did not know.
