A deep dive

I really want someone to make a comparison between Jaehyuk from Limited Run and Hyeon. Albeit not the same genre, their characters do have the same motives (Cold, Logical, Manipulative, Connects with the MC because they're proven useful). I'm so captivated by Hyeon, I actually get Yiseon's feelings. The way the characters act feels like they're the one driving the story, not the other way around. I love how flawed Hyeon is but I can't bring myself to give the same love to Jaehyuk despite his current efforts (ch 66) to reconnect with Yeon Oh

I feel like it is because Hyeon had to let go of something that he was working for so long just to keep Yiseon alive, you all are saying that he is just manipulative, and he is, but if that was all he would have let him die. On the other hand even though Jaehyuk is trying to help (i don’t remember mc’s name, sorry) he hasn’t given up or lost anything just to prove his love or anything, not that i expect him to, i don’t feel like their relationship has reached that point, but lets see what happens with the video thing

Thing is both had an agreement.
    Hyeon still needs Yiseon
Jaehyuk already got what he wanted from Yeon-oh.

As much as Hyeon is showing that's he's trying to "save" Yiseon, it's more like he's keeping Yiseon's little sanity left just so that he wouldn't totally fade into despair and drown in guilt. Ofc for the only sake of the plan, which it's ruined... but Hyeon is not the one to give up (so it's seems at least) so Yiseon could be of use more later, again.
But we get to see Yiseon kind of relying on Hyeon, but his way of relying is just a disguise of the fact that he feels responsable for everything bad happened. Hyeon prolly knows it so he just wants to keep Yiseon's psyche as much intact as possible.

Meanwhile, Jaehyuk doesn’t need Yeon-oh anymore, what's making him keep an eye on him is something that lies in the past (or so i believe) since apparently Jaehyuk knew Yeon-oh even before (??) (But this is just my unfounded conspiracy)
I don't think Jaehyuk feels guilty for Yeon-oh's father's death. I don't think it's in his mind to care for that. Rather... i think he finds... unsettling(?) Yeon-oh's being so lost and vulnerable that he just wants to meddle in his life trying to ""take care"" of him.. discreetly (even tho it's so obvious)
Meaning that Jaehyuk isn't really giving up on Yeon-oh, but all his actions are so contradictory that just makes you doubt him more and more (similar to Hyeon, but Hyeon makes you doubt because we're influenced by his desire of completing his plan, which leads you to believe that that's the only thing important to him rn).

Yeon-oh on the final ch. of the season, he finally gave up on trying to pursue love, but he's so drained and so empty inside that it feels like he's not really living at that point and you can tell by his expression.
Jaehyuk maybe doesn’t realize why he wants to take care of Yeon-oh's well being OR why he's seemingly trying to reconnect. And i'm sure he doesn't.
But nor do we... we can't really be sure of one's character's feelings, if they don't really show the pain and struggles to find the real reason why they act in such a way for the other person.

I wouldn't use "love" for either Hyeon and Jaehyuk. They still need to show what their "love" is really made of or made from.
Also it's early and too vague to identify whether they just "care" or have proper feelings.the
Redemption and retribution goes hand in hand.
The first one rewards/redeems the top with the bottom's love but they have to go thru the retribution, that is to say for the top to get back the trust and "love" from the bottom, they need to go thru a hard way first. (At least that's what i always thought)
