If you truly and wholeheartedly love someone, that doesn't go away with death. If the next person you're with can't understand that a piece of your heart went to the grave with them and the have the audacity to be jealous of a dead person; you might want to move on. I know from personal experience. I was widowed at a young age.
I think this shows the beauty of finding love again after suffering the most crushing heartbreak you could ever imagine. Why shouldn't be be allowed to find love and happiness again? Why should he forget the love he had for his wife that gave him his beautiful daughter?
