He is dead in a sense that he was reborn once again without his memories as "our" Nuah, but his body remembers the love for Rix. So he doesn't remember Rix, but he slowly falls in love again. But he is not "out Nuah". That Nuah is dead because his memories are no more. So Rix is conflicted, because even tho the body is the same, that is not his Nuah that spent so much time with him exploring the world.
