yeah, the story is basically a promised neverland ripoff at this point, I wish they could stop giving us all these side stories or flashbacks and just focus on the main plot.

do NOT compare this to tpn.wow, I'm embarrassed for u. you do realize that these aren't "side stories " they're all part of the main plot of the story. It's not like this is "filler" or something. a little bit of reading would have told u that.
i lack patience and reading comprehension? of course they are looking for whoever they are looking for; however, that doesn’t mean i have to understand what and why it is taking so long. this manga is over a decade old and the chapters get shorter and shorter — how are we supposed to enjoy when there is one chapter every month and each chapter is less than 20 pages long.
you say it’s part of the main story-line yet the main story-line was finding who killed his parents and get revenge on that. we are now, trying to prove his innocence. Don’t get me wrong though, i appreciate the fleshing out of the side cast and have no issues with learning about them. in fact, it might be something with much importance later on in the story.
The main storyline of Black Butler is Ciel getting his revenge for the downfall of the House of Phantomhives.
Yet we can witness that Undertaker's plan is an obstacle to Ciel's revenge because his dead brother wants to take our Ciel's place.
That's why our Ciel has to confront his own dead brother and Undertaker's schemes. That's why we are here now.
Once again with this arc we can see how determined our Ciel is with his revenge. He is not even hesitating about disappearing now that the real Ciel is here. No... In fact our Ciel thinks only him can do this revenge not even his zombie brother.
We are not far from the main story. Undertaker has revealed himself as an obstacle to Ciel's revenge so our Ciel need to investigate on real Ciel and Undertaker's plan for moving on to his revenge.
We also know that many had problems with Ciel's family. The downfall of the Phantomhives were not only organized by one person. If our Ciel wants to make his revenge he needs to find those persons and that would be difficult. But now with the sudden apparition of his dead brother it only makes things worse.
So I don't think black butler is "just being milked " as you said.
The author of this manga know where they're going. They already knew that they wanted twins for Black Butler and put some hints in the earliest chapters.
If they hinted Real Ciel that would mean the author wanted Undertaker to bring real Ciel back even more with Book of Atlantic and the school arc. It was sure that Undertaker wanted to bring someone back to life and this someone was real Ciel.
The story was predicted by the author to turn this way.
It may seems long because the author take one month and more to publish one chapter and the chapters are short.
as much as i love black butler, i am collecting the manga too, i feel like this is just being “milked” — i don’t really understand where this is going and it is just getting longer and longer with shorter and shorter chapters…
