I don't know about the novel but in here he was given numerous chances..in the training grounds where they are alone,outside that one time where Kiera asked him herself even though she was clueless.And also if someone reallylikes you and is courageous enough to confess they WILL FIND a way. But he didn't bcs deep down even he treasures their friendship and wants to keep it at that...
I dropped this long ago when I saw spoilers that Joseph is not the end game. And based on some comments, in the novel Joseph should have a little role in romance since Erez is the only planned love interest.
If that's the case, they shouldn't emphasize too much of it in the manhwa. They first introduced Joseph to be the love interest and it came so fucking hard then you will insert this blondie to steal the game.
It's criminal to do that.
