Its a good story as a story. And not every relation has to be perfect and balanced.

I feel like this story will also have an open ending like the beast must die. Like ending where we cant tell, whether the relationship will last forever or not. Bcuz once mc get out of that delusion he created , this relationship will die.
mc seems to be in a fantasy world of his teenage love where he created ml's personality and character everything different from the actual ml. Idk but this is what i see from the mc's side like he seems obsessed with ml that he is ready to forget every bad thing ml did.
And ml, low self esteem, insecurities but still self centered. All these are keeping him low and not investing much in the relationship.
This relationship is imbalanced which i cant deny, there will be a time when this relation will turn toxic again.
basically both seems to have psychological problem and needed therapy immediately.(づ￣ ³￣)づ
