Is he just going to her for comfort or is he actually doing 'you know what' with her? Because that's just messed up sleeping with someone who looks like your mom

Another thing u dont understand is if he is trying to get 'revenge' against the empress because of his the past one treated his mother, why is he treating the person who looks like his mother the same way? It doesn't make sense at all

I think they were trying to explain this, when she said he was still like a child.

He's trying to rectify what happened to his mother by treating his mistress the way he wished his mother was treated.
While he treats the empress the way he wished the previous empress was treated

But he is not treating the mistress any better because he told her the exact same thing as the empress, you know about the quill thingy

That's cuz he wanted to hear what he wanted to hear, and knew she would give it to him. But now, he's starting to realize that that might not be what he really wanted

Plus he's incredibly vain. He thinks women just need shiny and pretty things to be truly happy. To quote The Swan Princess " What else is there?"
