Thank you so much for clearing that up!! I could have waited for the later chapters but I really did not like how Heejae looked all angry and cold when he hugged real Seyoung in the earlier chapter. It made me truly believe he wanted nothing except revenge!!! But I’m glad we just need to look at ch 21 to see passed that and see Heejae changing! <3
Y'all are spreading incorrect and skewed spoilers (T-T)lll... I finished the novel and I promise you, the story and Heejae is really not that dark or twisted. Please don't trust MTL. The series is very cute. My only complaint is it's too short.
1.) Nothing bad happens in this story, Heejae and Seyoung don't break up. They're a cat-dog couple so they have some minor misunderstandings here and there but nothing tragic happens.
2.) Heejae is kind of petty and childish, but he's not evil. He's younger than Seyoung and is still in his early 20s, he's truly just acting his age.
He was in love with Sesam but after being dumped and cut off for no reason, he goes to look for Seyoung, and sees him happy and smiling with his coworker. He's angry because even though Sesam chased after him, she's kind to everyone else except him. He also has a bit of past trauma with suddenly losing his loved ones. He doesn't understand Seyoung's behaviour and why he's being treated this way.
3.) Because he was bitter, /initially/ Heejae was planning to make Seyoung fall in love with him and then dump him for revenge but he quickly dropped that idea when he realized he fell in love with the real Seyoung. He realizes this in Ch 21 (after chasing Seyoung in the snow). Of course he's upset about his car, but he's far more scared of being hated by Seyoung. Heejae then decides he wants Seyoung to fall in love with him for real. He's not scheming to hurt Seyoung anymore. This dumbass gets the butterflies when Seyoung smiles.
The next few chapters in the raws is Heejae's POV arc (it's really long in the novel too), which is why he seems sus. It's not the case, it's a flashback explaining his thoughts. The novel covers it in more detail than the webtoon.
Heejae is an intense and expressive person with a lot of duality. He's always thinking and feeling different things at once. He can be both upset at Seyoung but also deeply smitten by him at the same time. He's also very romantic and plots a lot of dumb schemes just so he can have a date and hold hands with Seyoung, who he knows isn't very good with receiving affection or doing couple-y things. Heejae seems unhinged but it's more like "the end justifies the means" to him. Seyoung calls him a lunatic, but he's just really smart and achieves results. And he does, actually, always achieve results.
Seyoung does eventually like Heejae back but he's not yet comfortable with physical intimacy (yet). So even though he also likes Heejae, the guy is also too cringe for him sometimes (lol).
The one aspect I like about Heejae is that he's normally a rational person, but when it comes to Seyoung his IQ drops to -100 and he ends up doing carzy things. For example, he's not a foolish spender, but he's dropped down some serious cash in the spur of the moment on something just because he thought it'd make Seyoung happy.

4.) Yoona is not deeply in love with Heejae, but she's prideful and just as petty, and wants to be the center of attention. She's also rich and invested a lot of money into ruining Heejae's Rumble Tumble clan out of revenge.
5.) The guild is accepting of Seyoung, and they later have a guild war against Yoona because she sniped up a ton of their members and is trying to rank #1.
(Seyoung's female bestie, is secretly a PVP ranker in the game and helps out.
She's a seriously cool gal.)
