I Read a Long time ago that the novel is longer than the Harry Potter series… which is crazy to me since I read the entire novel in a couple of days (twice since I love to hurt myself). I cried a lot both times too.

highly encourage everyone to read the novel. calling it a masterpiece is an understatement. what convinced me to read the novel is because of hua cheng and xia lian's spiritual devices, which is e-ming and ruoye. they're basically their child. and e-ming's relationship with hua cheng is just hilarious (he also gets jealous every time xia lian's attention was on e-ming) snjsjsjshw. ofc, there's a part where e-ming and ruoye kind of duels (e-ming wanted to show off to xia lian and ruoye is just fed up bcs of how clingy e-ming is to xia lian.)
everything is chaotic in the novel, agree. but they also share hilarious moments. they're a whole bunch of unintentional comical characters that made the whole reading experience worthy (ESPECIALLY PEI MING AND QUAN YIZHEN—THE BESTEST BOY! PLEASE ALSO LOOK FORWARD TO YIZHEN!)
if you wanted to read now, chapter 93 is chapter 49 in the novel. there are a total of 5 books right? i kind of recommend to read the book orders 2-1-3-4-5. why book 2 first? well, book two is where it all started, it was all about xia lian's past. it's your choice too!
