sorry i missed this for so long, but yeah if you have similar reccomendations I would love to have them. though half the fun is not expecting the twist, i want to at least know other stories exist where they switch up

That's right, it's mostly good when you don't expect it and the mc unexpectedly ends up with a second male lead you were rooting for. But still it's better than nothing :(
ngl i don't think i've ever seen any BL series be confident enough to actually mislead the audience with a false male lead AND then give us an actual compelling love story between the real male lead that takes over 50 chapters of development. like i didn't think much of henry at first, but then he slowly started showing up more and then BOOM. he saves Jimmy and lets him room with him. That's when it occurred to me that he was the real love interest all along because the story rejected Jimmy with Taylor. (as it should, i had me worried that taylor was gonna be our endgame lmao)
like i can't wrap my head around it, i was genuinely surprised and I actually really like that the story naturally developed like it did. I like Jimmy and Henry have got to be one of my favorite BL couple of all time, they were super compelling characters who actually felt like they were falling in love over time (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
