Jun from castle white is made the new empress to repay the loyalty of the king of castle white
The blue haired one is from castle blue and he was simply made a consort because the king of castle blue helped clear the Late King Domyeong’s name (Doha’s mom)
Castle red sent a new prince consort because the Empress protected her life.
Seonyong (the old honored consort) asked to be let back into Miae Village
Even tho Doha was only named honored consort he never held any distain for Jun and instead supported the idea of making him empress.

Since they didn’t have genetic testing back then the emperor can choose who to name the father. It was never revealed whether or not Doha was the “actual” father since she had been sleeping with all of the concubines.
