it is a work that you can enjoy comfortably with a calm story without any major incidents or accidents, but those who enjoy stimulating materials may find it boring! if you're into the webtoon then you should try reading the novel but most people don't really like it as in the beginning, it was a soft, calm, and healing but after the ML (from the original BL) came out it turned out clumsy.
the reason why some people didnt like the novel was because of the development of the story and the characters that was changed out of nowwhere. this seem to destroy the unique charms that made people like this work and a lot of people were upset because the ended wasn't what they expected. It felt like the writer couldn't handle it and didn't know how to ended it so they just did whatever.
For example Mujin takes Jaewoo to a bar where he meets Yoo, the yoram dude. Jaewoo gets drunk and Mujin takes him home. Hyunjin panics when Jaewoo doesn't return home. Jaewoo lies about having drinks with friends. Hyunjin confesses his love to Jaewoo. Jaewoo works for Mujin and cuts Hyunjin's debt in half. Hyunjin discovers Jaewoo lied about where he works. Hyunjin and Jaewoo confirm their feelings.
Hyunjin's dad attacks Jaewoo and Hyunjin gets stabbed. At the hospital Hyunjin dad stabbed Jaewoo and Jaewoo dies in surgery. Mujin and Hyunjin find out Yoo was the culprit. But yoo is gone. Years later mujin and Hyunjin became friends and the kids also have a hard time too. The family is kinda distant now sadly
HOWEVER JAEWOO COME BACK AS SOMEONE ELSE AND THEN BAMN HYUNJIN IS LIKE YOU... YOU ARE JAEWOO? AND JAEWOO IS LIKE HELL YEAH I AM. AND THEY KISSED AND THEY GET BACK TOGETHER FOREVER.
Me personally I think it is fine. Also Hyeonjin is indeed the top. Jaewoo is the bottom. I find it really annoying when people are upset because a certain character is not a "bottom" or a "top". Really weird but whatever. Also It called "I Became the Lousy Side Top" because In the original story, the main character got inside the lousy top. The title speaks for itself and not for the position
