I wouldn't say that it's a "cool" way of showing love ...it's more like he don't really know how to show it, if you look at his past when he grew up with his father who was always away and mother living in different place. He didn't really have the chance to recive affection and he always "hid" his feelings (it's more like there wasn't anyone who could recive them). So I think that this awkward and rude way of showing love is all he can do right now, until he is used to it, and I'm sure one day he will be able to honestly and freely say how he feels. (=・ω・=)

But he doesnt have any trauma, or toxic parents and he wasnt raised under the shade. He also had a cheerful and kind friend. so i really dont understand his inability of showing his true feelings because he's surrounding was not patological. I mean that treating people in that way is abnormal, even if his parents were cold and such, they did not give him such example of treating people like shit. And behaving like that relative to his girlfriend which he is supposed to love and respect is seriously triggering me . But that' s just my opinion

But that would be a total change for a whole story and character concept so i guess it is rather impossible :|||

Well, I have a close friend - and it's my best friend, I can say - who hadn't any patological family or sth, but she was in the same family situation as Kyouya. And she is almost the same type as he is - very often she just don't know how to show her true feeling although she's a really good-hearted person and she will do anything for a friend. So, I'm totally buying this mangaka' story.
