I 100% agreed with you. Everytime this kid eats lollypop given by the mc, they draw her from the side angle where the lollypop is half in her mouth and the other half hanging out.
Its a very suggestive angle which I assume is fanservice for the male readers with the lollypop representing the "penis" and the child representing a girl child as a target for male lust.
Moreover they add her blushes & courting by her family to marry her. In the latest chapters, she even supposedly cleans his abandoned house & waits for "so-callled adult hubby" quietly & obediently.
To make all of this worse, not even a single chapter shows the mc declaring "I'm not attracted to children. I will not marry a child". What the author shows is, "she is still a child. She will be ready in few years", implicitly implying that mc is already looking at her as a future bride.
Should grown men look at girl children & think, "I want her to be my wife in a few years". The fact that the author thought that was okay behaviour is the problem. The greater problem is that he had enough male reader support to put it as popular male fanservice is also an issue.
I also have an issue with the mc making an appearance in this kid's life to always give her "candy/sweets". Is there no other interaction possible between an adult male & a minor girl child other than a pedophile moment?
The moment I saw these aspects of the manhua, my brain literally deconstructed the motivation behind them.
The veneer of civility does not hide the ugly lust & desires of that which should be protected not lusted after.
It made me so uncomfortable. Can't even shut off my brain while reading.
the lollipop scene was so weird
