I tought the same, but still the story is very mysterious around the character. i actually like this brother better, whatever he is, I mean he really cares about the MC. the other dude is just using him and getting jelous because he might loose with boy toy, pisses me off.

I don’t think he’s using him… but before he most likely was but now we see the sunbae starting to realize how much he cares for mc when he’s actually gone like almost every one-sided love. But without sex, he does care for the mc like when he accidentally hits the mc and when he starts getting upset and wants to comfort mc when he realizes the mc upset.
Protecting him from the fall too.

my thoughts are the brother is prob some spirit guy, a manifestation of what the mc wanted as a child (someone to be there for him), he’s most likely changed how ppl perceive mc for most of his life so when he enters mc’s life he’d want someone to rely on although it doesn’t happen since the sunbae has been there for the mc. the step bro also changed how he appears to other ppl (in beginning didn’t wanna be noticed so ppl would leave him and mc alone together prob) and now ppl r seeing him as his handsome self because he probably has a plan to try to get mc to be with him? idk those are my thoughts also i’m rooting for the sunbae more, idk if i forgot anything but why does everyone hate him a lot genuinely curious pls don’t hate me y’all
