Riftan's love for Maxi isn't because she's submissive/meek. At least in the novel, he's only had eyes for Maxi since the beginning as a child. Can't remember exact details but he liked her for her gentle nature due to the great contrast of his rough upbringing, and was attracted to her when he saw her petting a kitten or something along those lines. So it's not that he has a preference, his ONLY type is Maxi. And I believe it does mention in the novel how he was never interested in other women, only Maxi.
Oh really?? I haven read the novel so i didnt know thank you for telling me (⌒o⌒). I read the manhwa solely so i was annoyed off from that one scene when maxi asked him about his marriage with agnes and he said he didnt like agnes outgoing tomboy personality and preferred submissive woman like maxi. I think i should read the novel to understand riftan better
Riftan has a knack to cover up issues with insensitive remarks, he actually dislikes two faced people, even if the intentions are not malicious, the princess in riftan's eyes an aristocrat that will use everything to their advantage, it flares his distrust in humans and disgust of nobility.
But that is too much to explain, and Riftan is a tough nut to crack open and be honest with maxi, so he just says she is not his type (￣∇￣")
Agnes is such a bright soul unlike maxi and this reminds me when riftan clarified he never like agnes cuz he prefers timid mouses over manlike woman :') basically women who dont like to be told what to do and have a head over their shoulder or have their own voice. Riftan liking submissive meek women is what icked me off slightly but its just me
