im not sure but i feel like what happened to hikaru before losing it is kind of similar to what haruki is going through atm. as when hikaru felt miserable but was instantly fine just at the mere sight of haruki, haruki was suddenly alright after seeing hanabusa... its like they mistake their happiness for having someone there for them as love. this is prolly a reach
