So I'm not the only one to hate this "troupe" (not sure what to call it), glad to hear that. It's so annoying seeing the uke make NO relevant decision whatsoever and leave the seme push him around. It gets to boring, the seme does whatever he pleases and the uke is just there, not doing much really :/
In this case it's also kind of sad because I really liked the premise, the idea could've been a fun enemies to lovers if done right

I believe it's one of the biggest problems when it comes to this genre, and I try to avoid as much as possible xD
You're not alone mate I hate these pushover, no brainer ukes sm and when they basically give them so many feminine traits, while in return the seme is strong, smart, masculine blabla. Sometimes I read yaoi mangas and it's just oozing full with heteronormativity. Hate these dynamics were the seme is basically just arrogant and selfish and the uke just obeys his every word
I guess what annoys me the most is that they're not equal at all, but the uke is always lesser in everything
100% this!!! they always portray the uke as a "lesser man" and that really irritates me. That's why I personally really like stories with switch couples because at least they exhibit a more balanced relationship and dynamic, both emotionally and physically.

yeah i definitely agree with you on that one.... the uke is always taken advantage of/ forced into things (basically non con) but of course the seme is always excused
I hate it when ukes are written like this.. so weak willed, always the only one thats constantly blushing feeling overwhelmed, can't hold a single conversation without losing their wit, always the one to get aroused, no self control and overall completely at the mercy of the seme. So unbalanced and one-sided it's actually quite frustrating to read. If you really think about it, the entire plot is more or less from the uke's perspective and his constant mental gymnastics and internal monolog. Nothing in this story showed me that seme was actually in love with the uke.. his expressions never changed nor did the way he treats the uke. That's just my opinion.
