I humbly disagree, yoshiki is often seen reflecting on his love for Hikaru through memories. Him projecting Hikaru onto Lord Brainsnatcher to avoid accepting his death & Lord Brainsnatcher feeling what Hikaru felt for Yoshiki has set up a troubling dynamic where they’re both drawn to each other for their own reasons. It’s not cookie cutter but if anything I’d call this traffic mlm

I don't get those mental contortionism done to try to minimize the mlm here. Yes it is not a fluffy story about the cute side of romance, it's more in the side of sadnes and horror and mistery, but it's still a mlm. Love is not only the fluffy part, it's also about lost or things not said and the representation of those feelings here is sooooo well done, that trying to undermine the mlm element is so incomprehensible for me. I've seen that in A LOT of reviews for this story and it just makes me think "why?" Why is it so hard to think that maybe mlm is just about the relationship of the main characters and that things can happen around that and, even more, that those things can be related with mistery and a horror story setting? That doesn't make de relationship of the characters any less valuable, it actually reinforces the mistery and horror elements due to the relationship and how complicated the situation about these 2 characters is...
