It is more of a pedophilia blackmail kinda situation, rather than a sexual assault if we're being technical here. Taekin met the brother through a dating app and the guy was into BDSM and dog collar kind of sex and he was filmed by the dude and his brother knew about it. The fact was that he was in middle school and the brother was still fucking minors even after that. He had been a pedophile since he was in high school with elementary school kids even then. And his mom had been shielding him. The justice gets served but the whole thing is disturbing, but SamK-nim's novels always have sexual assault stuff in their plot line. It sheds lights on really disturbing things that exist in LGBTQ community and all that. It is disturbing but at least we get our revenge and satisfaction.:)

SamK-nim always has the best leads ever, and even the side characters are great. The stories seem to revolve around a similar issue but in different scenarios and different personality leads deal with it in their own way. I just love it sm. Payback is certain my favourite one but this one takes the cake for the best pair Heechan is the best mc Samk-nim has written imho. Like Yohan is great, but Heechan is just PERFECT.
How does Minjae fall in love for Heechan ?

Novel spoilers (a little bit for now) as promised:
I did go back and read the novel, so I'll just spoil some cute and serious plot points if anyone is interested. This being a SAMK novel, this author always has a penchant for including a very serious sexual assault allegations/act in her novels which centre the plot and the main characters in some way. Payback, December, and Half of Me is no exception.
* First of all, the kid - he is gay, that is true, and the person he was involved with is the class president's brother (who has not been introduced to the story) who is a psycho pedophile, yeah. He will be the main antagonist along with his BASTARD of a brother. This story is not just about bullying, but also serious sexual assault stuff. Our HEECHAN and Minjae will take revenge don't worry.
*Second, Minjae's past is about to come to the forefront. The reason he is not trusting is indeed with all that happened to his parents and the inherited money, like what is a SAMK novel without the male lead having family trauma and trust issues, but also a secondary character which will be HIS EX. That he did love but who cheated on him and even filmed a sex video of him without his knowledge which Heechan discovers and destroys it but the guy tries to snatch it from him and he even hits him and Minjae sees it and heechan is prepared that he will get mad at him but instead he CLOCKS the fuck out of his ex. That scene was amazing. So basically, the situation with his ex is complicated because he wants him to forgive him and I think he even threatens suicide if he doesn't. Minjae negotiates with heechan about helping the kid in exchange for heechan acting as his BOYFRIEND to make his ex give up on him. (づ￣ ³￣)づ this sly fox.
Thirdly, Minjae will love heechan so much and he will do a lot for him and the kid, who is not only traumatised by beinh violated and filmed by that trash asshole, but also that nobody would believe him since their mom is some powerful church lady who is even a bigger psycho. But Minjae is also rich and powerful and his boyfriend needs him to up his game and bring them justice. I love it when he's so jealous, even of his ex, because he doesn't want him to fall for heechan's charm lolol.
There is a scene when that bastard pedophile comes to bail his brother out of jail after heechan beat the living crap out of him, and the brother tried to flirt with heechan and asks for his number to contact them further and Minjae gets hella mad and basically keeps it in and goes on even over-protective mode and pulls an ace card calling his father which both the brothers fear, and he did it all for heechan. So don't worry, zaddy is the best. Heechan is also just super super lovely!!!!!!! I love Samk's main leads always.
Fourth, the twists here is going to be the time between the two bodies is going to start getting less and less and that is because the kid is losing his will to return at all, so heechan and Minjae are on a clock to have justice served so they can show him that his life is worth living and people believe him. And don't worry, it's a happy ending all around.
This story is very good, and I love their chemistry and their relationship and how daft heechan is to his looks and how lovable and wholesome he actually is, he even comforts the ex after he had hit him through the kid's body and the ex eventually has a little bit of a redeeming arc lol. Also, heechan realising his feelings for Minjae is also partly due to his ex since he feels bothered about it and also after he SEES actually sees the sex tape of Minjae and that ex, he starts to see Minjae in a different light, and it bothers him that he loved someone else so blindingly, and even asks him "Did you love him a lot?" LOL, but he'll come around and realise his feelings too since Minjae is such a babe anyway. I just love this story sm.
In the future chapters, I might spoil something more but for now this is it. Have fun you guys! (づ￣ ³￣)づ
