Thank you! Finally someone said it. Treating yourself right is part of loving yourself. That comes with change and hard work. Obviously, don't starve yourself but proper exercise and healthy food options are things everyone should practice regardless of your body.
Don't say everything is fine when it is not. It's okay to not be perfect but we should all continue to change bad habits.
You're right, but body weight is also something that can be out of your control. The fact that to a lot of people fat = lazy is what people are so sick of and falls into fatphobia. Like, let's not pretend like people don't think fat people are just lesser beings. And the excuse is always " oh I just want them to be healthier, that's why I'm being harsh"
Body positivity isn't about thinking you're healthy at any weight, it's about believing you can be beautiful at any weight. You don't have to be miserable and feel ugly just because you're fat. It doesn't help you lose weight.
Even morbidly obese people deserve to feel pretty.
OMG YES! tbh it obviously doesn't feel bad one bit when someone who is ACTUALLY worried says it, but some assholes need excuse to lower someone else's worth, I personally experienced it, even up to my earliest memory everyone called me fat-so (they were mostly said jokingly in a teasing way) but god it hurts so bad, specially to a child, I hated myself to the core only to find out now I wasn't fat at all, I saw my old photos and it turned out.... I was extremely normal and just big for my age(I don't wanna imagine what obese people experience) . And about health, even many thin person experiences many severe health issues but everyone compliments them "omg i wish i was thin like you" like bish they're dying, they are mostly hypocrite who wants an excuse to just shit on someone. As the first commentator said we obviously shouldn't support obesity but please don't bully them and make them hate their whole being. I'm currently overweight (my bmi is 25) and God its already very difficult to lose some kgs, exercising with a heavy body takes a lotttt more efforts than when a normal person does it. (I only lost 6 kgs and felt like I could fly and jump buildings) but I (unwillingly) gained it back and am feeling like shit.
And tbh body positivity is.... In my pov Just not hating yourself for whatever you look like... (again I'm not "supporting staying obese" but just want a human to not despise themselves)
And hate to break it to some people but... No amount of bullying is gonna inspire them to lose weight, they'll do it regardless of what you say if they want, and won't if they can't bring themselves to.
I think people need to realize being OVERWEIGHT is UNHEALTHY and you need to to understand AND stop romanticizing obesity because it’s unhealthy and dangerous.
Everyone is scared they will hurt someone’s feelings so they lie and say it’s ok to be obese but it’s not I t’s unhealthy it could lead to many diseases.
You can ask any medical professional and they’d say being obese is unhealthy and you lying and sugarcoating it will only lead that person to a very dangerous path which could result in them dying from heath complication.
Also, fat-phobia is when you DISCRIMINATE or SHAME someone for being fat, not when someone wants to lose weight for there own heath grow up.
If you want to talk about body positivity you should be talking about how it’s ok not to have the straightest nose, the biggest butt, largest lips or the sharpest jawline that’s where body positivity should be installed because you can’t help it, and if you want to get work done make sure it’s done for you not for others.
And I’m talking about people who are WAY OVERWEIGHT AND OBESE!!
