I do get it that Ono might be too desperate in saving Ikumi that he might have unintentionally inflicted bruises during the CPR (someone needs to learn how to calm down in doing CPR)

but what if that desperation to save him might actually kill Ikumi in the end?

yikes...

in fact, CPR without bruises most of the time is not succesful.......even broken ribs would be normal...

yup. also cpr has a low success rate so it's kinda funny to see it used as a trope so often.

...and they get up and walk into the sunset...I'm always beyond amazed.
Our advisor said: don't stop even if something cracks beneath your hands, no matter what, keep the rhythm. You might stress about some broken rip poking around in rib cage, but you're trying to keep the heart moving which is guarded by this rib cage; so nevermind if some break get THAT HEART MOVING

yep, and once iniciated cpr, you have to continue till the paramedics comes, be it 30" or 1hr.The moment you stop, the moment he/she dies.... ╥﹏╥

    It´s quite hard.

Yup, cracks in the ribcage is a minor treatable injury as compared to when the heart stop pumping the much required oxygen-filled blood to the brain. As such cracking ribcage is common. So proud to see first-aiders here
