Yes this! I agree. Im a gay guy and altho I don't mind people reading bl (to an extent), it's uncomfortable when people idolize amd fetishize us gay guys irl because of what they read. Don't ask us stuff like who's bottom or top, and dont put us in uncomfortable situations... we're normal people who deserve respect and comfort~! Separate fiction from reality, we aren't just yaoi characters.
I never in my yaoi life fantasies about two real guys even when i was a teenager in school my classmates boys especially become all mushy mushy with each other guy i never think of them in yaoi way , i don't know why it's quite weird to do it on real people i like it all on fictional sense cuz real guys don't meant it though, i never get why people like those stories where a fujoshi fantasies on real people it's actually upset me to think that way don't know whats other's opinion are but always remember "differentiate between fictional and reality" is important.
I want to thank those who left a reply! It
I've realized that I should've typed why I think it is wrong. My point was to say people its fine if you read it, but it gets weird if you start projecting what you see in said media onto real people! A prefect example of what not to do is the protagonist from the anime "Kiss Him, Not Me!"
She often projects what she sees in the media she sees onto her (straight) male friends. She often publicly tells said friends about (I guess you can call) fantasies. There was a time when she requested them to do a photo shoot where each pair up and take photos that look intimate with each other, and most of them look uncomfortable.
Anyways, my point is not to become a fundashi/fujoshi! It's perfectly fine to read as you please (as long as it's legal of course).
Hopefully my last question/post makes a bit more sense now.
