It's like an auntie but not related by blood
Godmother (or Godfather) is a person related to the family that 'bless' the children and become a gardian for this children. It was a Christianity thing during baptism (and still does) but nowaday even atheist can have a Godparent (in my country at least).
What does he mean by godmother? Like a mother figure or what
