Omg, you're so right- I've been interested and looking a lot into mental health-related stuff for years and lately one of the topics I've seen a lot is how coping mechanisms stem from traumas and now that I think about it, Mari's definitely showing some major signs that all his obsessiveness with masculinity comes from a lot of past trauma and that's heartbreaking ;;
dub con is very vaguely appropriate for this chapter. poor mari. my dear boy. what's so disturbing about this chapter is he still didn't understand he was being sexually harassed right until he punched that guy and how this is actually very common for victims. at first i thought maris obsession with being more masculine was something of a plot driver, but I'm slowly understanding that it's actually trauma. there were perhaps even more instances when he was harassed and didn't know. my love for mari just grew even more. pls protect him for all of us kengo, we're all counting on you
