Honestly, his whole “now you see me, now I’m ugly” thing, reminded me of Noragami- only people with ties to the other side, could see being from the other side, and how certain beings could make themselves be seen but people wouldn’t notice them otherwise. It’s not a perfect fit, but taking it as a base and putting it together with Hanjoo’s weirdness I’m thinking- he got lost as a kid, and was close to death, when one of the beings helped him and they made a “deal” or “wish”, whatever, and now, that black-haired beauty as come to collect. They’re connection is why hanjoo is viewed like that by others. I don’t know, maybe sunbae either has a lot of “Yang” energy or they have some connection, blah blah (I hate him!)
If they wanna go full-MNightShamala then Hanjoo should be one of this other-siders that was able to cross over and doesn’t remember, so he thinks he’s human, and baby boy’s coming to bring him back home.

Are you talking about the hyung? Yeah he originally wasn’t popular or known but after he started showing his true (handsome) face, he becomes popular. I think he did that because he thinks that’s what Hanjoo wants, to be surrounded by people. He thinks Hanjoo is only with Sunbae bc sunbae is popular and surrounded by people but that’s not true at all and now Hanjoo feels uncomfortable with his hyung’s weird behavior.

I think im going into tinfoil territory but for sure the black haired guy is not human but supernatural. Its obvious that he can manipulate how he looks like to others and Hanjoo is the only one that can see his true face. Hanjoo is seen as dark and creepy by others except Sunbae which is why they became friends. In the raws, sunbae is the only one who sees him as bright and handsome, literally everyone else feels something off about Hanjoo. Sunbae thinks Hanjoo should be popular bc of his looks but no one else thinks that. I think the black haired guy masked Hanjoo’s image (similar to himself) when he was young to prevent him from being close with others but only sunbae is immune to it. Just a theory.
