I think telling different stories at the same time can work but not in this kind of story or maybe the artist isn't skilled enough to do it well. The problem is that the genre of the main storyline is suspense and it really kills all the momentum when the story suddenly switches to the sub-couple. It adds to the confusion people already have with the DID storyline. Plus it's worst if you're reading this in real time (once a week a week vs reading it all at once). It's just too much for no reason lol
I think you hit the nail right on the head for me. It's why I've put this story onhold. The mc is already super interesting and fun to read about and whenever the story is about sc Ican't help but be taken out of the moment. When a mc story is already this suspensful the only way a sc's story would work is if it's directly tied to the MC's story and adds to it.
Yeah, they probably shouldve waited until later in the story when things begin to settle down to start actively working on the second couple. Maybe its a type of filler to prolong it but they just dont feel relevant rn, like one chapter im on the edge of my seat and then the next, im skimming the whole thing because its the second couple

I do like both couple, but really I am more interested in the original one. I don’t hate the other one with the green and purple dude but it’s disappointing when a chapter comes out and it’s just about them. I do applaud them for trying something slightly different to the typical ‘og couple first and then supporting characters love arc after main story is done’ but it’s traditional for a reason. It is really juicy with the main couple and this secondary one just feels like it reeks of wholesomeness and comic relief, despite their attempt to make it serious at times.
