Dude same.. like lots of ppl ask for "healthy poly" recs these days but lmao, it's just not a thing. Ppl have a vv romanticized and unrealistic idea of what poly is. In reality it's so dysfunctional and doesn't last. And tbh it's mostly losers that'll take anything they can get that get into poly relationships.
Your right about that. My friend tried to start a poly relationship and it went well at first but eventually it went downhill, because lack of communication and lack of attention as well. People may say that they don’t ever have hard feelings but because we are humans those emotions we actually develop instead into a big issue. You can’t hide and deny your feelings. That’s why having a relationship with multiple might not work.
When ever I read a story with a love triangle I look at the comment and see that people are like “they should be poly and have a 3p”. I honestly hate that…. (This was from pure love operation). What if the other person didn’t like that idea? And being a poly relationship is actually really difficult because your partner can feel differently about it. In poly relationships you all have to agree on almost everything not to tear the relationship apart. And like in a poly relationship it takes organisation and excellent communication and time management skills in order for it to work and can consume huge amounts energy in order for it to stay working. If you got three partners (or more in some stories) you have to do something to please them all. In some stories poly actually works because those people are agreed to do and they work it all well. A story like ‘Yours to claim’ wasn’t gonna work if they are a 3 because jealousy, insecurities, and trust issues can all creep up and manifest themselves in a few ugly fights. That's why poly relationships are hard as well, perhaps harder than their monogamous counterparts.
