This is my personal opinion but I think both sides are guilty? FL didn’t want to be married in the first place and that is apparent through the entirety. Just because they got married doesn’t entirely mean she want to be with the guy. ML is the one really pushing his feelings on to her and really doesn’t inform her how dangerous it is to be the grand duchess. Sure FL is blushing every few times and doesn’t quite understand the emotions but ML isn’t innocent too pushing his feelings on to her when she didn’t want to get married. But that’s my hot take
But the thing is he doesn't know that she was forced into marrying him. To him, she agreed. So he is being romantic to his own wife and is not forcing her for anything either. He is just being loving and caring towards her and she is not refusing it either.
How should he know that she wants to break the marriage in a few months.
He is being played by them all.
Her mother and she also told him that she is weak and unwell so he is treating her like that and being overprotective.

I can see where you are coming from here. Now the only reason I’m saying he’s pushing his feelings is because she clearly when they had their first official meeting set up. She did try to escape the marriage to the point she got in the guys carriage in order to escape. And I don’t think this ML is stupid. I think he figured she was running away from the marriage. Yeah I agree she agreed to marry him but it isn’t like he really didn’t know she wanted to escape in the first place. Now the fragile part 100 percent they lied to him. Why? I’m not sure so for sure they are not innocent there but I feel like our ML isn’t dumb either when he first saw the FL running away. I’m not going to defend the Fl either as again she’s keeping secrets to though I dont think she’s really trying to lead him on. She didn’t protest to the kiss but she did say no and the ML persisted and she did not pull away. But again my two cents I think it’s 50/50 from both sides here. I dislike neither character though. I just think they created that dynamic on purpose. It may be the FL doesn’t know how to react to the emotions she’s feeling so maybe in part stringing him without meaning to
