I have a feeling that Raymond has an illness that hasn't been mentioned and just being in the FLs presence is enough to keep it at bay so the grandfatheer is desperate to have her by his side to keep him alive, its a stereotypical theory but its the best I've got

He KNOWS that Erin was cast aside and humiliated for 9 years because of his grandson's relationship with Serena. But he wants her to come back because Raymond needs Erin? So what? Is Erin then supposed to live a miserable life as the future Emperess in hopes that he magically changes??? They say that the Emperor cares for Erin but I think that, like Raymond, he just sees her as a way to get what he wants.
